You can roughly divide May into two parts: the first is your quiet time as you think seriously about what you need to feel fulfilled and the second is a busier period building up to your birthday when you can start to achieve some of your dearest wishes. At the very start of the month however, Mercury is in your solar eleventh house of friends and group activities until 9 May, joined all month by Uranus. You’ll enjoy seeing your favourite pals on 3 May, a fun day actually to go shopping together, however your pals may disapprove of your kids or lover (or vice versa) on 5 May.

With the Sun and Mercury in your solar twelfth house of secrets until 21 May and after 9 May respectively, you may be planning a big life change that takes quite some preparation. Perhaps you’re not yet ready to broadcast it to the world what you’re up to, but you get a cosmic nudge to get on with it from the Full Moon of 6 May and I suspect it’s work-related. In fact, you have a gloriously helpful aspect between your ruler, Mercury, and Neptune (which is now in your solar tenth house of career for a decade-and-a-half) on 10 May. This day may make you slowly aware of a career opportunity (or perhaps you’ve been given confidential info that you have to keep hush-hush for now) but you feel beautifully inspired. Pay attention to your dream/s on awakening this morning.

Similar in feel to the mid-March line-up is a quadruple planet power-pack of great aspects over 13 and 14 May. You have good reason to feel inspired with some wonderful hug-to-yourself news that again, you can’t share quite yet and I believe that it has to do with your daily routine, working conditions, colleagues, and job responsibilities on 13 May while some of you may have a private realization that it’s time to look after your health, quit smoking or possibly even start a diet and exercise program. On 14 May, your mind is in planning mode where you’re looking to secure your long-term wealth with others. This could be with a partner (romantic or business), or a group of people where a scratch-my-back-I-scratch-yours approach will work out very well indeed. Other Geminis may discover they’ve been mentioned in a will or are about to receive a tax refund or large commission cheque. Still other Twins will harbour sexy fantasies that are too X-rated to go into here. Why don’t you tell your partner what you’d really like to do to them… Everyone knows the biggest sex organ is between your ears. More lucky breaks that might just have to do with your partner are coming your way on 22 May.

And then, it’s happy birthday time, Gemini! You’re already enjoying the benefits of having Venus in your solar first house of personality and she’s about to be joined by the Sun from 21 May and your ruler, Mercury from 25 May. But first, Venus goes retrograde on 15 May until 1 July. This is a six-week period in which you’d be best not to drastically change your hairstyle, your personal wardrobe style, nor even, possibly your cosmetics. Venus makes you see things differently after she’s been going backwards so you may regret a hair chop at this time. Put the scissors down and step away from the hot pink bomber jacket! Single Geminis should be prepared that lovely dates with sexy humans are unlikely to go anywhere (fast) – just enjoy their company for the time you’re with them. Those of you with partners may experience a mild cooling, or foot-off-the-accelerator feel to your relationship. If you were planning on getting engaged, or hurtling towards marriage you may delay the Big Day now. Many of you will come in contact with exes. Like John Cusack in High Fidelity, some of you may wistfully wonder about the Ones That Got Away.

Venus in retrograde form may make you hesitant to commit – yet the Venus-Saturn trine on 17 May is pushing you to put your name on the line. Perhaps it’s not about your lover, or your dating choices (which need to get serious as if that hasn’t become patently obvious in the last 2.5 years!) but about your decision to have (more) children. Yes, you will have to give up more of your freedom and independence, but the pay-offs should outweigh those. For some of you, the work you’ve been doing (for years) on a personal hobby may also pay off (literally). In any case, your personal astro-birthday (you can have two!) each year is the New Moon of 21 May. This is when you should make a plan of what you wish to achieve in the next 12 months…You must be especially clear here because you could be led up the career garden path with many tempting – yet ultimately disillusioning – choices on 23 and 25 May. These are NOT the days to sign up with a new company nor to launch a business. But you’re all-systems-firing on 27 and 28 May. An unusual, even eccentric friend could introduce you to some wonderful new people who help you achieve your goals then. It’s also just plain damn fun partying then. Do watch out that your personal agenda doesn’t alienate family members on 30 March.

Speaking of which, you may have a brilliant opportunity to make money from your home – literally if you’re selling it or been bequeathed property on 16 March. If you’ve ever wanted to start working from home to grow your joint bank accounts, or to create a powerful home-based business (or one that markets to women or families), this day is ideal.
