There’s a small window for organizing a wonderful holiday in the first few days of May with Mercury planning to check out of your solar ninth house of travel where Uranus will continue to backpack for several years on 9 May. Before he goes, there’s a gorgeous aspect on 3 May which is lovely for booking or departing on a faraway trip with a lover or your most delightful group of friends. In other cases, you may be thrilled with a publishing opportunity that arises from a group or association you belong to, and if you happen to need legal advice, you may receive it for free from a supportive pal. The paperwork around a visa, frequent flyer program, hotel and/or airline booking, university entrance, or a legal contract may be delayed, blocked or cancelled altogether on 5 May however.

But if you don’t get away in early May that’s OK as you have absolutely stellar aspects for enjoying the spotlight with the Sun in your solar tenth house of career until 21 May, joined by Mercury on 9 May and Jupiter all month. You get galvanized into pushing ahead with a home or family decision on the Full Moon of 6 May which reflects your career. It may involve a relocation, a family member joining your business (and yes, kids sticking the stamps on envelopes to clients does count!) or revising your home to make a more welcoming home office. Go through your old business card box, your facebook business page likes, your LinkedIn connections and your personal black book and you’ll find a number of contacts who will prove very helpful in enabling you to connect with VIPs, industry decision-makers and potential clients on 10 May. And don’t dismiss the possibilities of a sweet-natured ex putting you in touch with who you need to meet to achieve your goals, either.

The biggest career news seems to happen 13, 14 and 22 May when you have four powerful aspects all helping you to succeed. You could be in the right place at the right time talking to the right person in the right mood on 13 May. They’re open to your suggestions so go for it! I don’t need to tell you to think big – that’s your preferred way of thinking! Being open to success also means being brave about asking for what you’re worth and it’s much easier to start now at a higher salary than to get there slowly over time. Emphasise the value you’ll bring and they’ll ask you to sign on the dotted line. The very next day on 14 May a powerful supplier or colleague could facilitate your progress. The efforts you’ve put in to date will start to sprout now. Yes, they’ve all been watching your professionalism and they’re impressed. On 22 May there’s more news to gladden your heart and change your business card title. You will feel ten feet tall now so have fun, but do remember kings and queens serve their subjects. A little humility now is very regal now…

I’d also like to give a big mention to Mars who’s still transiting your solar second house of income. He trines Pluto in your solar sixth house of work and health on 16 May which is a powerhouse day for you to go after a raise, bonus, higher commission, more influential/bigger-spending clients, better perks, or nicer office. A promotion now will put you in contact with those who will make you perform at peak level. If, in fact, YOU are the boss, this is an excellent day to hire dedicated employees: they will give their all to your business and you.

Venus goes retrograde in your solar eleventh house of friends and group activities from 15 May to 1 July which usually heralds a calming-down of your social calendar. One of the most typical ways this manifests is that a great friend temporarily departs your circle, causing you to miss him or her greatly. And if he or she just happens to be a platonic pal of the opposite sex, well, this just smacks of When Harry Met Sally where Meg Ryan’s withdrawal made Billy Crystal realize she was The One. (And if you can’t tell I’m a hopeless romantic by now, you haven’t been reading my newsletters for long enough.) Many of you will hear from exes during this time, wanting to friend you on facebook; most of you will be delighted to make contact with long-lost buddies, playing the old “What have you been up to since university/work/that holiday” etc game. In some cases, you may realize that a friendship with a particular person has run its course. Your slow, gentle withdrawal from their life may be complete by the start of July. You may also want to have a quiet think about your attitude to friendships – are you making enough/too little/too much effort? When was the last time you joined a new club or group?

Venus welcomes the Sun from 21 May and Mercury from 25 May in your solar eleventh house, but while she wants to chill, they want to party and hang out! Arrange to catch up with one of your oldest, most trusted friends on 17 May: their insights will be kind, yet also profound. You may make a new friend or join a new group following the New Moon of 21 May: you’ll click rightaway. Avoid mixing friends’n’money on 23 and 25 May when the former will be all too happy to relieve you of the latter. They may have a drinking or gambling problem or just incapable of budgeting for a night out. If you do have a social event that night, beware of sob stories from no-hopers and watch out for drinking too much then: you’re likely to wake up with a pounding headache. Your wittiest, most connected and liveliest friends are raring to go on 27 and 28 May. Don’t be surprised if a chance remark results in a last-minute holiday with them. If you wanted to organize a fun night out for your birthday, you’ll have a wild night then! Do avoid 30 May when one of your pals may get a little too argumentative over money.
