You may be on a roller-coaster of financial surprises with Uranus in your solar second house of income for the long term – are you keeping a cash stash somewhere for the bills that will surely roll in after the sudden windfalls? With Mercury here until 9 May, you’re not only thinking about money, but reading and talking about it as well. You could easily expect the unexpected when it comes to cash, such as a surprise refund or rebate, sale of unwanted gifts on ebay, unexpected member special offers, a great daily deal bargain or even a gift card for being a loyal customer on 3 May. Debt seems to be a tricky issue – possibly with an ex-partner – on 5 May. Avoid using your credit card then.

Have you noticed that your past, present or potential partner has been slowly coming back on board now since Mars turned direct in your solar seventh house of relationships on 13 April after being retrograde since 24 January? Mars doesn’t moves as fast as Mercury who retrogrades (it seems) ALL THE TIME so his/her full cooperation – from agreeing to empty the dishwasher to setting a wedding date – won’t be completely forthcoming until 20 June when the Action Planet has fully retraced his steps. You can get your friends to rally behind you and encourage him/her to make a really good effort on 16 May. Friends may get your partner to see your relationship in a whole new light.

There seems to be some heavy traffic on your phone, inbox and letterbox with the Sun in your solar third house of communication until 21 May, joined by Mercury on 9 May and Jupiter all month. A planned trip or legal paperwork may need further fine-tuning if you’re scheduling it around the Full Moon of 6 May. Circle 10 May as a gorgeous day when you can convince anyone you meet to support you 100%. You’re alluring and enchanting, with hard-to-resist emotional appeals backed up with logic and facts: a winner if you have to sell or present anything. You’d really enjoy starting an evening course now, too, especially if the classes revolve around film, dance, photography, art, make-up, magic, music or mysticism!

Pisces who work in sales, media, journalism, transport or telecommunications can make the pitches of their lives on 13, 14 and 22 May. You’ll be able to sell ice to Eskimos then! These are also wonderful days for enrolling in evening classes, getting fascinating books from the library, brushing up your skills, and attending networking functions. You will do even better if you take part in events held within your community. And for those Pisces with siblings, these three days are fantastic for seeing and/or contacting them. 13 and 22 May is well-starred for having positive conversations with your partner and will be a repartee-fest for those on dates. See your most insightful friends on 14 May too as they’re likely to say a rather simple yet profound comment that stops you in your tracks.

You’re likely to be working on a beautification scheme at home with Venus in your solar fourth house of home and family until 7 August. This planetary guest doesn’t want much to feel at home: just candles, flowers, cushions, fragrant soaps and scents, soft music, art, pretty bedlinen and gourmet food to start with! You may host a stream of friends and family over the next few months while many of you will be looking to move to a more attractive home or to redecorate or gently renovate (ie paint, not rip down the walls of) your existing house. Other Pisces want to make amends with family members and to call a truce. At any rate, you want your family around you.

But Venus goes retrograde from 15 May through to 1 July which suggests there is nothing on the real estate agent’s books which feels right. A home or apartment which seemed yours for the asking may be withdrawn from sale – or worse, you’re gazumped! Some of you may lose your confidence in a decorating decision while others are dismayed to have long-anticipated guests – which may have been part of the reason for big outlays on candles, flowers, gourmet food, fresh sheets etc – have to postpone or cancel their stay with you. Many Pisces will miss certain family members who leave the “fold” for a while.

Venus is joined by the Sun and Mercury on 21 and 25 May respectively. Use the highly positive Venus-Saturn trine on 17 May to discuss a family estate issue. Perhaps you could combine your finances to purchase a property while others come to an agreement regarding an inheritance. An older family member may loan you money for your home deposit.

You’re likely to be your own worst enemy with your family on 23 and 25 May when you don’t know what you want. They don’t know if they can trust you (or your judgement) in relation to a domestic matter. These two days would be the worst possible for you to sign a real estate agent’s, tradies’, architect’s, or interior designer’s contract as you’re all over the shop. It’s too easy now to be guilted or pushed into a decision you’re not comfortable with. Your partner may be too abrupt with you and/or your family on 30 May, creating an uncomfortable situation.

Read books, newspapers, websites, blogs, brochures and customer reviews about those to do with building, real estate, décor or property investment on 27 and 28 May. You’re likely to come up – or be presented – with an innovative idea in relation to money and your home or family. Some of you may choose to invest with your brothers and sisters in a property while other Pisces will consider original ideas on how they can make money from their home, such as through taking in boarders and university students, renting out the granny flat or garage, holding open garden days, holding Tupperware-style parties, using their home for commercial photo shoots or films, or allowing advertising on their side wall.
